Here are some top travel tips for you:

Historical Background:

Shokolate has spent over 20 years turning a passion for chocolate into reality. From visiting countless professional chocolate factories and artisan studios around the world, the team has deeply explored both people’s love for chocolate and the misconceptions surrounding it. To ensure the highest quality, the estate established a 300-hectare premium cacao plantation in Ecuador through direct partnerships.
It is now Taiwan’s only chocolate manufacturer, fully integrated from cacao farming and R&D to production and retail.
The company invests directly in cacao plantations in Ecuador—one of the world’s top cacao regions—importing fine cacao beans back to Taiwan for processing, using the best ingredients to make exceptional chocolate.
Committed to promoting cacao culture, the estate features a Chocolate Story Museum with guided tours, hands-on DIY chocolate-making experiences, and even a 3D film shot in Ecuador by a professional photography team in 2017. Visitors who wish to stay longer can enjoy a spacious and comfortable on-site guesthouse.
Surrounded by mountains and abundant water, the estate is an ideal environment for plant growth. The scenery changes beautifully with the seasons, and from December to March it becomes a prime strawberry-harvesting area. Anyone who loves chocolate and nature will fall in love with Chocolate Cloud Estate—a place that feels just like home.

Our Journey:

We have been to Shokolate twice, once when we passed by to pick strawberries in Dahu, and also on another day trip where we took a longer tour. We drove our own car there. We also stayed the night at Shokolake B&B. It was a fun experience, but I recommend not visiting during holidays when there can be heavy traffic.

Shokolake stands out because it looks like a giant castle in the middle of nowhere. You can also see signs for it from the freeway and all over Miaoli. If you are a fan of chocolate, this is definitely the place for you.
