Our Journey:

I have been to Sanzhi Night Market once. I just happened to run across it one time after visiting Baishanwan Beach nearby. It is definitely a great place to grab a snack after visiting the beach. I was surprised by how many people were there and how big it was, considering how small the population of Sanzhi is. It seems to be a popular spot for the locals.

Most people drove there by scooter or car and parked for free on the side of the road. However, free parking might be far away during busy times.

First view of the night market as we pulled up to it.

Fried squid is front and center here.

You also have octopus balls.

Potato swirls.

Stinky tofu.

Rice blood cake and robin eggs.

Candied fruit.

Fried chicken and related fried goods.

Shishkebab.

Chicken legs.

Braised goods.

Another octopus ball stand.

Large steak stand, which is the most famous stall in this night market.

Night market games.

Steak sit-down eating area.

People waiting for their steaks.

Jellied tofu truck.

Clothes and accessories.

More night market games.

More clothes for sale.

Waffle stand.

Ring-throwing game.

Balloon popping game.

Finally, we had our large portioned steak. It was awesome!

And a corn dog.

And a taro smoothie.

That concludes our tour of the night market. For more places to visit nearby, check out our recommendations below:

Baishawan is one of the best beaches in northern Taiwan. The sand is white, the water shallow (and warm in the summer), and it is relatively well-kept and clean. Due to its proximity to Taipei, it sees lots of visitors, especially from foreigners. Swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and kite surfing are all popular activities at this beach…(read more)

Shuangwan Bicycle Path 雙灣自行車道

Shuangwan Bicycle path follows a quiet stretch of beach in northern Taiwan. The entire path is flat and only takes about an hour to complete, with a total length of 8KM. However, at low tide, it is full of rocks. There is also a popular bike path that connects it to the sandy beaches of Baishawan and Qianshuiwan…(read more)

Qianshuiwan Beach 淺水灣

Qianshuiwan (aka Qianshui Bay) in Sanzhi District of New Taipei is a popular beach destination, which includes a pristine bike path that goes all the way to Baishawan.
